DHT is a hormone produced in the scalp, and when its levels rise, it can cause the hair follicles to shrink. Over time, this shrinkage can lead to long-term weakening and miniaturization of the follicles.

When the scalp doesn’t get enough blood flow, the hair follicles receive less oxygen and fewer nutrients. This weakens them over time, causing the hair to thin and eventually fall out.

Stress can push hair follicles out of their growth phase and into a resting state. It can also disrupt hormone balance and how the body absorbs nutrients, leading to brittle hair more prone to falling out.

With age, the scalp loses collagen and elastin, which weakens the structures that protect it and help deliver moisture and nutrients to the hair. Because of this, hair gradually grows shorter, becomes more fragile, and loses its colour over time.
